Getting Media Right

This mini-site consists of three pages of photos I've taken. If you are so inclined ... a click on any of these images will bring you a better look via an enlarged version.

Site Notes

On this page you'll find a title, and the ability to click on a photo to enlarge it. All photos have been web optimized.

Lightning

lightningI took this photo of lightning while outside one night last year from my front yard in Castle Rock. Three challenges ... time it just right (i.e. a good guess), hold the camera still enough to get an exposure without a blur in low light, and don't get killed while doing it.

Your text here - The process used to optimize this image was to open it in Photoshop, use the 'crop' tool after setting it to auto crop at 150 pixels wide by 150 pixels high and 72 dpi. Once initially cropped I positioned the picture within the 150 pixel box, then used the 'save for web' feature specifying 90% quality while checking file size to be sure it remained under 30 KB.

Looking Down on Clouds

sun and cloundsI took this photo from an airplane window at 35,000 feet recently ... since the lighting changes quickly as the position of the airplane, the sun and the clouds changes from moment to moment the trick is to take a lot of consecutive pictures and hope for the best (kind of like Monet's 'series' painting ... "it's all about the light" ...).
